Kirsty and Connor’s wedding at Southlands Barn was one of those days that felt relaxed, happy, and full of real moments. A perfect example of a summer wedding and also great inspiration for anyone planning a barn wedding in the UK.

Getting Ready at Southlands Barn

Both Kirsty and Connor got ready at the venue, which made the morning very calm and easy. Southlands Barn is great for this because everything is in one place, so there is no rushing or travelling around. The light in the rooms was beautiful, perfect for natural and relaxed getting ready photos.

Indoor Ceremony and Outdoor Confetti

The ceremony took place indoors and was full of emotion, smiles, and laughter. After the ceremony, everyone went outside for confetti, which looked amazing in the summer sunshine. We then captured group photos with their friends and family, keeping everything fun and relaxed.

Quiet Moments Before the Reception

Before guests entered the reception room, we took a few photos of the space just as it was set up. These little details are always nice to remember later. Southlands Barn has such a warm and stylish reception room, perfect for a rustic barn wedding and some couple portraits.

Fun Games, Food, and Speeches

Before the wedding breakfast, Kirsty and Connor played a fun version of the mr&mrs game with their guests. It’s always a great way to get everyone laughing and involved.

The wedding breakfast and speeches followed, and they were full of funny stories and happy moments. The whole day felt very relaxed, with lots of close friends and family, and a big focus on celebrating with their friends.

Golden Light Portraits and Highland Cows

After the wedding breakfast, we went out for couple portraits in the beautiful evening light. One of the most unique things about Southlands Barn weddings is the Highland cows, and of course we had to take some photos with them.

We also visited the lake for some more romantic and natural portraits. The soft summer light made it the perfect time for relaxed couple photos.

Evening Celebrations and Sparkler Photos

The evening started with the cake cutting, followed by Kirsty and Connor’s first dance. After that, the dance floor quickly filled with lots of energy, laughter, and great moves.

We finished the night with a fun wedding party sparkler photo, and some champagne spray shots with the couple – the perfect ending to an amazing barn wedding day.

Kirsty and Connor’s day was a beautiful example of why Southlands Barn is such a popular wedding venue. Relaxed, friendly, full of fun, and surrounded by nature – everything you want from a summer barn wedding.

If you’re planning a Southlands Barn wedding or looking for ideas for a barn wedding, I hope this gives you a little inspiration.
