Pelham House is one of my favourite wedding venues in East Sussex. Located in the heart of historic Lewes, this beautiful Grade II-listed townhouse combines elegant Georgian features with contemporary style, beautiful private gardens and plenty of character.
I’ve photographed weddings at Pelham House several times, and every wedding feels completely different and Pelham House is somewhere I always enjoy coming back to.

Why Pelham House Is So Good for Wedding Photography
Pelham House has a fantastic mix of spaces and backdrops, which means there are plenty of opportunities for different types of wedding photographs throughout the day.
The light-filled Goring Room provides a beautiful setting for an indoor ceremony, while the private gardens and Gazebo offer another option for couples who want an outdoor ceremony.
The gardens are particularly lovely for relaxed photographs during the drinks reception and later in the day, when the light becomes softer and more atmospheric.
Inside the house, the elegant interiors, staircase and characterful rooms provide plenty of opportunities for more creative portraits and photographs with a completely different feel.
And because Pelham House is in Lewes, there are also opportunities to incorporate the character of the town and the surrounding Sussex landscape into your wedding photographs.
