A beautiful spring wedding with sunshine, emotional moments and an unforgettable party

Kayleigh and Salem’s wedding at Buxted Park Hotel was such an amazing day to capture. As a recommended photographer at Buxted Park Hotel, I always love coming back to this beautiful venue. It is one of the most elegant wedding venues in East Sussex, and every wedding here feels special.

For their wedding day, Kayleigh and Salem had the whole hotel exclusively for themselves and their guests, which created such a relaxed and private atmosphere throughout the day. Alongside photography, I also captured a highlight film for them, and they absolutely loved both their wedding photos and video.

The girls got ready in the beautiful Churchill Suite while the guys spent the morning in the Snooker Room. The morning had a calm and fun atmosphere, and I captured lots of natural getting-ready moments. We also did a lovely first look with Kayleigh and her bridesmaids, followed by an emotional reveal with her dad.

It was a beautiful sunny day, so the ceremony took place outside on the Coat of Arms Lawn. The outdoor ceremonies at Buxted Park Hotel are always stunning, especially in spring sunshine. After the ceremony, we celebrated with confetti and a large group photo before moving into family group photos and some fun wedding party portraits around the grounds.

Before the wedding breakfast, we also had time to capture elegant couple portraits inside the Ballroom, which always provides such a timeless backdrop for photos. The wedding breakfast itself was relaxed and full of laughter, followed by emotional speeches that had everyone smiling and tearing up at the same time.

Later in the day, we explored the gardens for more romantic portraits. Around sunset, we headed to the pond for one of my favourite photos to create at Buxted Park Hotel. Almost all my couples ask for this shot because it looks so magical in the evening light. The fun part is that we often involve one of the bridesmaids or groomsmen to help with lighting, and I always make sure to capture behind-the-scenes photos of that too.

The evening celebrations continued with cake cutting, first dance and an incredible party atmosphere, including a live saxophonist that kept the dance floor full all night. Before I said goodbye, we also captured some fun champagne spray photos — always a fun and memorable way to finish the evening.
