A sunny October wedding full of music, laughter and ceilidh dancing

Emma and Tom’s Pilgrims Rest Battle wedding was such a special day. I’m a recommended photographer at this beautiful venue, and I truly love photographing weddings here. Pilgrims Rest in Battle is full of character, history and charm — it’s one of the most unique wedding venues in East Sussex.

It was a lovely sunny October day, warm and bright right through until the evening. Both Emma and Tom got ready at Pilgrims Rest Battle, which made the morning relaxed and easy. Everything happens in one place here, and that always creates a calm and enjoyable atmosphere.

Their ceremony also took place at the venue, surrounded by family and friends. After the ceremony, we had a fun confetti moment and then captured a big group photo with Battle Abbey in the background, which is always such an iconic view.

Emma and Tom both love singing — and so do their friends and family! Before the wedding breakfast, they surprised their guests with amazing live performances. It was such a unique and joyful experience, and I really enjoyed capturing these emotional moments.

In the evening, the weather changed and we had a little rain, but it was not a problem at all. We created some beautiful umbrella photos, which actually added something special and romantic to the gallery.

The evening continued with cake cutting, first dance, and energetic ceilidh dancing. The dance floor was full of laughter and movement — so much fun for everyone. Before I said goodbye, we also captured some playful couple portraits using bubble guns, which are always a great way to finish the night.
